Vieng Phoukha is a mountainous District located in the south of Luang Namtha Province.
Most people in Vieng Phoukha live in small rural villages and practice agriculture as their main occupation. There are over 5 ethnic minority groups in the district such as: Akha, Muser, Khmu, Hmong and Lao Loum. Moreover, the town is surrounded by karst Limestone Mountains that have many interesting and beautiful caves. There are also many activities to do- especially cave visits and trekking and the historical sites in town.
